Shopping is part of any travel experience and Seoul is a shopper’s paradise and caters for all tastes. You can immerse yourself in the traditional markets or find the latest goods in the popular shopping districts.

 Myeong-dong – One of the liveliest areas in Seoul. Myeong-dong stretches from Myeong-dong subway station to Lotte Department Store. The hustle and bustle of street life stretches for over 1 Km with avid shoppers that flock to the massive shopping malls, name brand retailers and vintage shops that line the streets.

 Itaewon – The designated ‘tourism zone’ area of Seoul and has over 2,000 stores selling a wide variety of fashion items, mostly clothes and shoes, and related goods. Check out www.itaewon.go.kr

 Namdaemun & Dongdaemun – Are both traditional style markets offering thousands of bargains for those wishing to haggle over the price. Namdaemun market has in excess of 10,000 stores all offering every imaginable product. Dongdaemun combines the traditional market stalls with the recent addition of large-scale shopping malls. Even the shopping malls open until the wee hours of the morning. Prices can be very reasonable!

 Hwanghak-dong Flea Market – The flea market and caters for all sorts of shopper. Antique bargains can be found here. The stores usually fall into three categories selling videotapes and used books, antique dealers and used electronics.

International Convention Centre Jeju Opens in March, 2003

The ICC will open its doors on the 25th March 2003, to host major international conventions, assemblies, lectures, galleries, concerts and sports events. The convention has many positive aspects in it’s favour, such as, location on Jeju Island that has easy access by air and top class hotels making it a great arena for hosting large scale international events.

The convention centre is comprised of seven levels, two underground and five above, In preparation for hosting world class events, ICC includes simultaneous translation system and visual system. For more information go to www.iccjeju.co.kr.
