‘World Cup Mall’ officially opens.
The Sang-am World Cup Stadium, built for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, is now making a name for itself as Seoul’s representative shopping/ entertainment space. Named the World Cup Mall, the shopping Mall contains a large discount market, multi-screen cinema theatre and over 100 clothing and accessory stores. The 1800-seat cinema has 10 screens with seats specifically designed for couples.
Korea Travel Helper ‘Riding in Seoul’ is published
‘Riding in Seoul’ is a comprehensive guide to public transportation in Korea as seen from a foreigner’s perspective, is now in published. The compact handbook is just the right size to carry when travelling. The book explains in detail the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of getting around in Korea using public transportation. From working out the different subway lines and indeed changing from one to another, hailing a taxicab, explanations about lifestyle, emergencies and a whole range of necessary information that will prove helpful to the traveller.
The 8th Pusan International Film Festival 2-10 October, 2003
Leading the evolution in Asia’s cinematic culture, the Pusan International Film Festival is in its 8th year for 2003. Between 2-10 October, some 200 films from 60 nations and 4,000 film-industry guests from 40 countries will converge on Busan. This years festival includes ‘A window on Asian Cinema’, Korean Panorama’, ‘Wide Angle’, an electic mix of shorts and documentaries from all over the world, other categories, as well as mainstream selections for the whole family. Audience members can take part in selecting the winners.
