Jeonju Hanok Life experience – Korean Traditional life Experience Park
Jeonju is well-known for its signature culinary dish, Jeonju Bihimbap (boiled rice mixed with vegetables). This cultural city is now home to the Jeonju Hanok Life Experience, offering visitors a chance to experience life as it was for the yangban upper class of the Joseon Dynasty (1392 – 1910).
A Traditional Hanok compound has ten rooms, separated into women’s (anchae) and men’s (sarangchae) areas. The rooms can house two or three people. Traditional decorations have been used down to the smallest detail, such as stone floors and furniture crafted by skilled Korean artisans. Tourists spend the night and receive training in etiquette, cooking and playing traditional instruments and courtyard games.
Room rates vary from 50,000 Won to 100,000 inclusive of breakfast. The Hanok life experience program is situated inside a large Hanok village with 800 traditional houses.
