Daechon Beach boasting Korea's west coast holds an annual mud festival featuring varied and colourful programmes. There is plenty of black-coloured mud along the clean pure beach and is rich in minerals that contain germanium. This mud is well known for protecting skin and curing skin diseases.

The main events include Mud massage, mud wrestling contest, mud body painting, mud photo contest, mud beauty contest, mudflat military training experience.
