The 9th Pusan International Film Festival
The film festival is comprised of 9 programmes including; Window on Asian Cinema to showcase new and topical works of Asian directors; Korean Panorama which introduces new Korean films; and Open Cinema that are films that the whole family can enjoy. The festival is not only for the experts of the film industry but all are welcome to enjoy the festival and the beautiful city of Busan during this lively time. Illustrated booklet and map published
The Korea national Tourism Organization has compiled an illustrated booklet for readers to explore the dynamic features of Korea at a glance. Published in 8 languages. The booklet showcases recent trends of tourism in Korea, by introducing Korean culture, tourist sites, special activity tourist packages and popularity of 'Hallyu' or 'Korean wave' (meaning drama and the arts of Korea becoming popular around the globe). Alongside the booklet 'Tourist Map of Korea & Seoul' has also been published in 4 languages and includes details about the new high-speed KTX train. The Wonju International Tattoo
On October 8, 2004, a fanfare for world peace will be sounding in Wonju, Gangwon-do Province; the only divided province in the world separated during the Korean War some 50 years ago. The Wonju International Tattoo was first held in 2000 as the first tattoo ever military band festival in Asia. This year the tattoo will be held for 6-days until 13 October. Military bands from US, UK, Japan, Russia, Canada, Thailand, New Zealand and Turkey along with 5 domestic bands will be performing.
