Visit Busan Year 2005
To commemorate the launch of the Korea Train Express (KTX), the 2005 APEC summit, the Busan International Film Festival, the Busan International Travel Fair, the Jagalchi Festival and other major international events held in 2005, the city of Busan has designated 2005 as the ‘Visit Busan Year’. The City will offer themed adventure courses and city tours, such as an eco-tour around the Eulsukdo Island Ecological District. Special temple stay programmes will be offered for an insight into the Buddhist culture of Korea and the lively scenery of the Hae-undae area and the Dongbaekseom Island will be lit to provide enjoyment of all the local festivities. World military band festival, 2004 Wonju International Tattoo
From October 8 – 13, the Wonju International Tattoo Festival celebrates world peace with the sound of trumpets and horns. Fourteen military bands from nine countries including US, UK, Japan, Russia, Canada, Thailand, New Zealand and Turkey along with 5 domestic bands will present exciting marching and highly artistic woodwind performances. A special feature of this year’s festival is the 100-day pre-festival build up which will anticipate the main event, with a varied programme of performances for everyone to enjoy. 2004 Seoul Drum Festival
Drums and percussions from around the world (domestic: 12 teams, overseas: 9 teams) will come together in Autumn, from 8 to 10, as part of the ‘2004 Seoul Drum Festival’, performing in various locations including the Seoul City Plaza, the Fountain plaza of Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts. The theme of the festival is ‘Seoul One with Music’, which encourages drummers from all over the world to create harmony between cultures. For more information: webmaster@drumfestival.org
