Making Korean Tourism Known to the World

To draw attention to many attractions in Korea, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with the help of sixteen metropolitan governments of Korea, is overseeing the production of a promotional programme called 'I Love Korea', a project about travel and culture experiences. Arirang TV will make and broadcast the 17-piece documentary style programme to people all over the world, with each programme approximately 30 minutes. The programme will promote beautiful images of Korea, focussing on locations, culture, performances such as traditional Korean wedding ceremony, ocean hot springs, and various festivals including kimchi festivals in which foreigners can directly participate. It is expected that this programme will not only enhance Korean image abroad but will also provide a chance for viewers to experience Korea. KNTO Opens Promotional Agency in India

In November, the Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) established a promotional agency in Mumbai, India. The lack of direct flights from India to Korea and the absence of a branch office, has made it difficult to promote Korea, to a huge potential market. The opening of a promotional agency will help promote Korean tourism and will open the door for a future branch office in the country. For more information contact: editor@mail.knto.or.kr
