Between the 11th and 19th July, the
downtown areas of Boryeong and Daecheon Beach are transformed
into large muddy recreational areas and organized for the purpose of showcasing
Boryeong mud cosmetics and also to provide a fun festive atmosphere for the locals and
visitors in which to get muddy. The Mud Festival is very popular with
the foreign tourists.
This
year programmes will include ‘Tideland Barrier Marathon’; a 10km shortened
marathon in which runners have to clear hurdles along the beach course. Also
participants can take part in a marine-style boot camp experience that leads
participants through various guerilla training excersises and games. For both
activities participants wishing to take part must pre-register at www.tad.co.kr
So bring your bathing suits and get ready for some
messy fun, as there are plenty of activities to enjoy including a mud bath,
