UST KOREAN CULTURE CARAVAN



The Korea Tourism Organization Manila sponsored the recently held Korean Culture Caravan organized by the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) of the Philippines in partnership with Annyeong Tomasino. The event took place at the Albertus Magnus Building Auditorium and Fenced Area of University of Santo Tomas last April 29, 2016.

A concert screening of I AM:SMTown Live World Tour in Madison Square Garden was showed in the morning at the auditorium in preparation for the program in the afternoon.

The Thomasian community participated in different activities from the booths located at the Albertus Magnus Building Fenced Area. KTO Manila conducted their SNS like event giving away Korean posters, while the Hanbok Palace allowed Thomasians to wear the traditional Korean costume, the Hanbok, and take memorable pictures from the photobooth.



The afternoon program consists of the talk on the Introduction of Korean Culture by Mr. Choong Suk Oh, director of KCC; Gayageum perfromance by Ms. Minji Jung, instructor from KCC; Korea Study Tour Presentation by Ms. Katrina Catajay, assistant manager of KTO Manila; Search for the Thomasian K-Idol Singing & Dance Competiton; performance by Se-eon; and raffle draw.

Chosen students from the Annyeong Tomasino organization also showed their talents during the event.

 

Raffle items were given away sponsored by the Korean Cultural Center, Tuttle Publishing and Korea Tourism Organization Manila.

The event ended with the awarding of winners for the Thomasian K-Idol followed by the closing remarks given by Ms. Marghel Revilla, Vice President for Internal Affairs of UST Annyeong Tomasino.
