LET'S GO TO KOREA TRAVEL SEMINAR

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) organized a travel seminar for Filipinos travelling to Korea within the year or early next year. It was held at the AIM Conference Center last June 17, 2017. The event was intended to promote new attractions, and to give tips and travel information to the participants in preparation for their trip.

Mr. Inshik Park, Director of KTO Manila office, welcomed approximately 140 participants to the event. This was followed by a presentation from Ms. Hyejin Jang, Senior Assistant Manager of KTO Manila. She talked about the basic information travelers need when travelling to Korea, visa guidelines, flight schedules, transportation and how to get around Korea, newest tourism destinations, useful smartphone apps such as the Korea Travel Books, Visit Korea and Benikea apps, and hotline numbers catering tourists.

Star Magic talent Ms. Kristel Fulgar, who has been known to cover OST songs of well-known Korean Dramas gave a special performance singing I Love You by Akdong Musician, You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift and Beautiful by Crush which is the OST song of the popular K-drama Goblin.

KTO also invited special guests to talk about their travel experiences in Korea with the Share Your Korea Story segment. Ms. Melody Co, a travel blogger from Guiltless Getaways, showed a short clip of her recent trip in Gangwon-do and some areas of Gyeonggi-do last April to promote the upcoming 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. She talked about her favorite destinations, what to expect to see in certain seasons, her many firsts in Korea, and the reason she keeps coming back travelling for more than 16 times to the country. The next presentation was brought by Ms. Bernice Sibucao, Assistant Multimedia Manager of GMA Public Affairs. She showed clips of her recent Ladies' Special press trip which was also held last April and expressed her love for Korean dramas like Queen Seon Duk and Descendants of the Sun. Her presentation is mainly about a first timer's guide to Korea explaining where to go for K-beauty and K-Pop experience, for cosmetic products, and for Korean sool or liquor. She also spoke about the price ranges of some street foods and snacks in Korea giving a USD and PHP conversion so that travellers will know how much money to bring for food.

Afterwards, participants got a chance to ask the speakers questions and win raffle prizes. Lunch snacks were also provided for everyone to enjoy. KTO received good feedback from the audience who are very much excited for their trip.
