The Korea Tourism Organization (CEO, Charm Lee) is holding a number of events to commemorate the opening of the new Korea Pass card sales agencies at Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport, and to express appreciation to tourists who visit Korea this summer. The Korea Pass was launched last year as an integrated tourism card in order to resolve the inconveniences of currency exchange experienced by tourists visiting Korea and to make travel in Korea more convenient for tourists.
For two months starting from August 1, 2011, the organization will hold a 10,000 Won Free Charge event, in which a free gift of 10,000 won will be charged for transportation on all Korea Pass cards purchased from eleven designated agencies, including four currency exchange counters of Hana Bank at Incheon International Airport; four airport railroad station information desks at Incheon International Airport; one currency exchange counter of Hana Bank at Gimpo International Airport; one airport railroad station information desk at Gimpo International Airport; and one airport railroad station information desk at Seoul Station. For more detailed information about the event, please visit the Korea Pass Homepage at: www.koreapass.or.kr
In addition, the KTO has designated August 19~28 as a summer special hospitality period, and will hold the 'Spending a Cool Summer with Korea Pass' event for foreigners who visit Korea via Incheon, Gimpo, and Gimhae International Airports. The event will offer summertime tourism necessities such as Korean traditional fans, wet tissues, and Korea Passes worth 10,000 won and 20,000 won. The event will provide additional excitement to tourists who visit Korea during the summer vacation.
The Korea Pass is a specialized tourism card that was developed to provide discounts and affiliated services in all areas related to tourism such as tours, shopping, accommodation, and transportation with one card. Cards worth 50,000 won, 100,000 won, 300,000 won, and 500,000 won are being issued, and they are payable with a Visa Card at all stores which accept Visa Card. Card holders can also receive a discount or special services at some 7,000 stores participating in the Korea Pass scheme.
