Citing a strategic effort to optimize international offerings, as well as a growing demand in and out of Korea, United Airlines has recently announced that it will resume daily non-stop service of UA 807 between San Francisco and Seoul. With the recent addition of Asiana Airlines into the Star Alliance, United Airlines will be able to capitalize on that carrier’s domestic flights to offer connecting service from the new state-of-the-art Incheon International Airport to other points within Korea. Service for the non-stop flight will begin June 2, 2003 and tickets for the three-class service flight from one of the airline’s top U.S. hubs are available immediately.

Flight 807 will depart daily from San Francisco at noon, making it easily accessible for connecting flights from Mexico and South America, which are emerging markets for Korea, and will arrive in Seoul at 4:40 pm the following day. Flight 808 will depart from Seoul at 1:45 pm and arrive back in San Francisco at 8:20 am the same day. Service will be offered on United’s 777 aircraft, which is configured for 10 seats in United First, 49 seats in United Business and 216 seats in United Economy.

KNTO officials are pleased by the announcement of United’s new flight. “Visitor numbers to Korea in 2002 prove that record number of visitors are traveling to Korea, and we are delighted that United Airlines has decided to capitalize on this growing market, by offering more convenient service” said Ju-Min Hong, Director of the KNTO Western Region office.
