Often called "Korea's Hawaii," Korea's largest island, Jejudo lies 60 miles off the southern tip of the Korean peninsula and is known for it’s picturesque scenery, dormant volcanoes and congenial climates. The island, which boasts 17,000 guest rooms, will welcome the deluxe International Convention Center Jeju (ICC Jeju) in March 2003. The centerpiece of this state-of-the-art facility will be Tamna Hall, consisting of more than 50,000 square feet of convention space, with 1,500 fixed seats and 2,000 movable seats. An efficient flexible design allows for different sizes and types of conferences, performances or indoor sporting events. An adjustable stage, special surround-sound system, eight-language simultaneous interpretation system will provide top-notch support for any event. Display space is plentiful in the Exhibition Hall, which features more than 27,000 square feet and which can be divided into three smaller exhibition halls. The hall can also be expanded onto Ieodo Plaza, an elegant outdoor sunken garden, which runs alongside a lava bluff and offers spectacular shoreline views for alfresco banquets and pleasant sun-drenched events. Meeting space is also plentiful in the new convention center and meetings of up to 1,100 people can be easily accommodated. VIP rooms are furnished with remote video conferencing and other up-to-the-minute systems. A top class restaurant is also available and ready to cater large-scale events. A clinic, money exchange window, post office, travel agency and other business services are provided in the spacious lobby.

Listed on the UNESCO registry of the world’s ten best resorts, the island’s mild climate and subtropical atmosphere have given the island a romantic image, and consequently it is a popular destination for Korean honeymooners. Jejudo is less than a two-hour flight from the five largest cities of Northeast Asia, including Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing and Shanghai, and the island boasts a streamlined traffic network, diverse accommodation options and exquisite natural attractions and cultural settings. Jejudo offers short one-hour flights to and from Seoul, Busan or Daegu and ferry service is also available from Busan, Incheon and Mokpo.
