(Fort Lee, NJ) - The issue of SARS is slowing down. KNTO believes now is the best time to hold an online campaign with promotions to re-activate the stagnant tourism market as a result of SARS.

To help jump start the Korean tourism market affected by SARS and North Korea's nuclear issue, the Korea National Tourism Organization's new President, Yoo Keon, is holding an online campaign with promotions for its top three markets, U. S. A, China, and Japan through the Yahoo Network – Yahoo.com, Yahoo!China, Yahoo!Japan -- from July 1 to December 31.

This campaign will incorporate seasonal main themes in diverse ways - an online banner, integrated content of the Yahoo site, e-mail to Yahoo members, and promotions with a survey or quiz.

The theme for July will be ‘Healthy Korea.’ With an image of 'kimchi,’ which is rising in popularity all around the world, KNTO conveys that Korea is safe from SARS. ’Dynamic Korea,' the theme for September, will emphasize Korea's most fabulous season, fall, with a variety of festivals. Furthermore, to highlight the winter through skiing, ‘Fun Korea' or 'Ski Korea' will be the main theme for November.

Each seasonal campaign includes a promotion with free gifts. This July, KNTO will be offering premium full tour packages to five members and a Korean popular singers’ VCD to 50 members who answer the quiz about Korea's location, language, and kimchi correctly. Also, it will provide cushion and blanket sets, travel alarm clocks, and umbrellas to 50 new members who register on Tour2Korea.com every month.

With this campaign, KNTO plans to build an image of Korea as a safe and attractive country while re-affirming the reputation of Tour2Korea.com as the nation's premier and most comprehensive website on Korean tourism.

Tour2Korea.com (T2K) was set up throughout 2001 and 2002 in 8 different languages, and re-edited last April with more useful information and services such as reservations for hotels, flights, performances, and tour packages, online shopping, discount coupons, and more.
