(Fort Lee, NJ) – The Korea National Tourism Organization announced the cruise tour program to Mt. Geumgangsan will be resumed on July 4, 2003. The tour was suspended in April, 2003 because of SARS fears. Since no cases of SARS have been reported in either South or North Korea, the tour is on again. Additionally, talks are underway to resume access by bus into N. Korea as well as railway construction to allow train traffic.

The Mt. Geumgangsan tour has been operating since November 1998, and few tourists know that you can enter into N. Korea via this extravagant boat tour.

The cruise ship, Hyundai Seolbongho, is the tour vessel and travels from the Gangwon-do Province in S. Korea to the mountain range located just over the N. Korean border.
The Geumgangsan Mountains, located on N. Korea’s southeast coast, are a miracle of beauty and wonder. There are 12,000 pinnacles and a plethora of Buddhist relics throughout the mountain range.

Among the most scenic and grandest mountains in Asia, the Geumgangsan Mountains stretch over 37 miles from North to South and 24 miles east to west. There are several wooded forests and mountain peaks including the 5,378 feet high Birobong Peak. Unique rock formations and breathtaking waterfalls make this mountain range one of the most famous in the world.

Nearly 70% of Korea is mountainous, but none as majestic as Mt. Geumgangsan. Plan your tour now!
