(Fort Lee, NJ) - Feel the Spirit of Patriotism at the Asan Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival from April 24 to April 28, 2004 at the Sinjeongho Tourism Site, Lake Sinjeongho, Asan, Chungcheongnam-do, S. Korea.

The Asan Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival is held around the birthday of Admiral Yi Sun-Sin to inspire patriotism in memory of the national Korean hero who fought against the Japanese Hideyoshi Invasion in 1592.

A variety of events are planned to pay tribute to the accomplishments of Admiral Yi over four centuries ago and to inspire people to feel closer to the heroes of Korea’s history.

Nearby tourist attractions include the Hyeonchungsa Temple which houses the war diaries written by the admiral, the Turtle Ship, which is the first ironclad battleship, and the long sword, designated as a National Treasure, as well as the famous hot springs such as Onyang Spa and Asan Spa.

A few of the activities planned for the festival include the Turtle Ship Sea Battle Game, a Kite-flying contest, an old marketplace viewing, and a Yi Sun-sin performance.
