(Fort Lee, NJ) – From March 27 to April 1, 2004 in Gyeongju, an ancient city rich in history and culture, dubbed the “living museum of Korea,” the Traditional Korean Beverage & Cake Festival is taking place and will feature two of Korea’s main traditional foods; alcoholic beverages and rice cakes. The festival is being held at the Gyeongju World Culture Expo Park in the Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju, S. Korea.

You will find a comprehensive selection of traditional beverages and rice cakes from the entire country exhibited in one venue, which will help enhance your understanding of the diverse Korean culture of various regions. Many kinds of utensils, materials and ingredients will be on display, providing tasting opportunities of many types of rice cakes including soft and warm ones, fresh from the rice cake mills set up just for the festival. You are also invited to try your hand at making rice cakes on your own.

There will also be demonstrations of making and tasting traditional alcoholic beverages and rice cakes, an exhibition of beverages and rice cakes native to sister cities, a rice cake slicing contest, and more.
