CULINARY ARTS ADVENTURE ADMIST SPECTACULAR AUTUMN SETTING

(FT. LEE, NJ) AUGUST 29, 2004 – The Korea National Tourism Organization and the Pine Mushroom Festival organizers, Yangyang-gun Department of Tourism and Culture, invite you to experience its unique culinary delight and festival.
The Yangyang Pine Mushroom Festival is to be held in Korea’s representative pine mushroom production site; Yangyang. During the festival, visitors will enjoy a hands-on experience to observe and pick Song-I (pine) mushrooms, accompanied by a professional pine mushroom expert guide. During the trip, they can take a stroll and enjoy the clean fresh air of the pristine pine forests and the spectacular natural landscape. They will also have the opportunity to taste pine mushrooms that are full of the unique pine tree fragrance. In addition, the festival features a home stay program at pine mushroom farms where people can experience Korea’s countryside life in autumn, as well as a half marathon where participants run along roads full of pine mushrooms next to the Namdaecheon stream surrounded by thick forests. Also Yangyang’s traditional folk play Takjangsanori is featured during the festival.

Main Events:
Mushroom harvest, field trips to Song-I mushroom sites, cooking contest with Song-I mushrooms, street parade, Yangyang traditional folk plays, Farm-Home stay, Song-I Marathon.

From Seoul, Yangyang is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes by bus.
