Tour2Korea.com (T2K), a Korea travel portal website for foreigners operated by Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO), has recently launched a “Korea Accommodation Price Comparison & Search Service” in its reservation section. The service allows visitors to view hotels by major metropolitan area and then further sort the properties by service class or by hit popularity. The service can be accessed by visiting www.tour2korea.com and clicking to the “Bookings & Guides” section, and then selecting “Accommodations.”

In order to promote this new service, KNTO has also introduced the “Crazy Auction,” where T2K members can enter to win free accommodations in Korea. Every two weeks, a new super-deluxe category hotel property is posted at www.tour2korea.com. The webmaster has designated a “secret” price for the accommodation (ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 won) and T2K members may enter their guess as to the actual bid price. The person entering the closest bid will win a voucher for a free night at the featured property. Only registered T2K members may participate in the contest. Membership is open to anyone who has a valid email address. The Crazy Auction will be held every two weeks until the end of the year. The first hotel property to be featured was the Renaissance Hotel in Seoul. Future prizes include vouchers for the COEX Inter-Continental Hotel and the Sejong Hotel Seoul.
