Brand New Episodes of “This is America with Dennis Wholey”
(Fort Lee, NJ) July 14, 2005 – After months and endless hours of hard work and coordination, between Dennis Wholey along with his production team, the Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) NY and Seoul offices, as well as with the Korean Embassy in DC, three brand new episodes of the renowned program “This is America with Dennis Wholey” were filmed and are ready to be aired. Check your local PBS station schedule for correct times, the dates do not change.
The first one entitled Foreign Affairs, Six-Party Talks, & Unification, was aired on July 9th and July 10th, this program looked at the current political situation on the Korean peninsula. An interview with Korea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, as well as discussions of the continuing six-party talks and the prospect of unifications between North and South Korea, were featured in this piece. The interviews also included Song Min-Soon, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Park Chan-Bong, Deputy Assistant Minister for Unification Policy.
Program two, entitled “5 Things You Should Know About Korea” will be aired on July 23rd and July 24th. This part has segments on Buddhism, Food, Sports (Taekwondo & Soccer), Film/Theater, and History (Old & New). Interviews include conversations with LG Electronics President and CTO Dr. Lee Hee-Gook and Ambassador Dho Young-Shim.
Lastly, program three, “Jeju Island” focuses on one of Korea’s most beautiful areas. This part will air on July 30th and July 31st, it features the rich history and natural beauty of Jeju Island, located off the southern tip of the Korean peninsula. Interviews include a conversation with Jeju’s Governor Kim Tae-Hwan.
