Discover Authentic Korean Restaurants in the Heart of Manhattan

In occasion of the 3rd UN Korean Food Festival taking place from June 5th to the 16th of 2006 at The United Nations’ Delegates’ Dining Room (UN Headquarters, 1st Avenue and 46th St) the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) New York office, the Korean Cultural Service NY, Korea Broadcasting Advertising Corporation in NY (KOBACO), and the Korea Agro-Trade Center NY compiled the first “Map of Korean Restaurants in Manhattan”.

This map is the first of its kind to list the top Korean restaurants in Manhattan, it contains 28 traditional, modern, and specialty Korean restaurants. This map also has the endorsement and approval of the Korean-American Association of Greater New York.

Chung Moo Ro, Han Ga Wi, Kori, and Woo Rae Oak are only some of the most representative Korean restaurants in the city, and along with all the other restaurants on the list, each one has provided three specialty dishes with a detailed description and even price information.

The map is easy to navigate and it is a must have for Korean food lovers and those seeking new culinary adventures! The map does not only show the restaurants in the well known Korea Town area but also features those in midtown and downtown Manhattan. Korean restaurants first appeared in NY in the early 1960s and after 45 years the city is home to over 250 Korean restaurants.

This map will be exclusively distributed starting June 5th at the 3rd UN Korean Food Festival. “The purpose of distributing the map of Korean restaurants in Manhattan at the UN Korean Food Festival is to encourage the continuity of exploration in the Korean cuisine” said Mr. Sung Woock Cho, the Executive Director of the Korea Tourism Organization in New York. The map will be available to download from the Korean Cultural Service website (www.koreanculture.org) beginning on Monday, June 5th, and it will be available for two weeks only. During the duration of the festival the delegates will taste dishes made by one of Korea’s most internationally renowned chefs, Mr. Gi Ho Yim, all are invited to the Delegate’s Dining Room for this feast!

The festival will consist of an elaborate lunch buffet that will be open to the public from Monday to Friday from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm (reservations are required and can be made by calling 212-963-7625/7626 or by e-mail delegatesdiningroom@earthlink.net).
