3rd Annual ROKIN the Boat Fishing Event
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) NY office held its 3rd Annual “R.O.K IN the Boat” on Friday June 30, 2006 on board of the “Ol’ Salty II” parting at 1 pm and returning to the Belmar, NJ marina at 5 pm.
The event gathered around 45 guests including travel agents, travel press, and Korean suppliers for an afternoon of friendly chatter, networking, and fishing. Mr. Sung-Woock Cho, the Executive Director of KTO NY, started the event with words of welcome. Mr. Yoon, Deputy Director, served as an MC and host throughout the afternoon.
During the trip the guests learned or were reminded and encouraged to attend the 2007 Jeju, Korea IDE to be held in Jeju, Korea from March 25-29. KTO, ASTA, and the Jeju Provincial Government are hosting this IDE that will offer the delegates an opportunity to travel to and learn about Korea and other Asian destinations. Those who register to attend will qualify to fly to Korea on Korean Air or Asiana Airlines for as low as $300 dollars from San Francisco or as low as $399 dollars from NY, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, or Dallas.
The sea was a bit choppy that day but the weather could not have been better, we enjoyed an afternoon of sun, cool breeze, and blue skies. There was a trophy and prize for the catcher of the biggest fish and this time the prize went to Debbie Paine from All Points Vacation. The prize was awarded by the Consul of the Korean Cultural Service, Mr. Kim.
