Korean cuisine is healthy and is the newest trend in New York City!!

Korean people appear to be slender and healthy looking to people of different backgrounds. Many people of Korean heritage are lean because their diet consists of lean protein and vegetables with only small amounts of processed foods. When you visit a Korean Restaurant you will notice that many of the traditional Korean entrees are healthy and are made with vegetables, garlic, beef, tofu and ginger. Many New Yorkers are choosing to dine in Korean Restaurants because of its healthy menu at low cost.
Bulgogi Kuk-bo-ki is a signature Korean dish. This dish consists of a rice cake with thinly sliced beef in a sweet soy sauce. Many New Yorkers also like Vegetarian Autumn rolls. These rolls are made up of baby lettuce leaves with shitake mushrooms, bean sprout salad, carrots with slices of avocados and sautéed tofu dipped in teriyaki sauce. Many Korean restaurants in New York City also serve traditional Korean pancake with kimchi, calamari, shrimp and squash. Many of the owners of Korean restaurants go to the green market at 14th Street and Union Square to get the freshest ingredients. Korean people use fresh grown herbs and ingredients not only in diet but for health purposes as well. Within the next two weeks, Geumsan Korea, will be hosting the Ginseng festival . This international festival will celebrate the Korean grown herb that is not only used in Korean teas but in medicines as well.
In a recent New York Times article, a survey was presented showing that many Korean American women have a longer life expectancy than other women from different backgrounds and ethnicities. Korean American Women have a low rate of acquiring many cancers and cardiovascular disease. The fact is that many Korean American women eat more vegetables. Many Korean restaurants are located in “K-Town”, between 31st street and 26th streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Some notable restaurants are Kum Gang San and Hangawi
