WORLD CUP TEAM TO TRAIN IN KOREA BEFORE HEADING TO CHINA
Team USA will spend two days in Suwon before Feb. 19-24 World Cup

INDIANAPOLIS – USA Diving has selected Suwon, Korea, as its 2008 pre-World Cup training site.
USA’s World Cup team will arrive in Korea on February 13. The divers will train at the Suwon World Cup Indoor Swimming Pool, with two workouts scheduled for February 14. The team will also work out the morning of February 15 before flying to Beijing for the 16th FINA Diving World Cup.
USA Diving looked at a number of pre-World Cup training sites and was highly impressed with the support it received from the Korean Tourism Organization in planning the trip.
“We were very impressed with their attention to detail and concern for our needs. They’ve made our planning very efficient,” said Linda Paul, USA Diving’s vice president of international teams. “They have already made us feel very welcome, and they seem very excited about us coming to Korea.”
The World Cup, the last chance for international federations to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games, will be held February 19-24. Competition will be conducted in four events for both men and women: 3-meter, 10-meter, synchronized 3-meter, and synchronized 10-meter synchronized. The U.S. may enter two divers on each individual event and one team per synchronized event.
USA Diving will announce its team on Friday, January 25 following a team selection camp.
