With the designation of 2010-2012 as 'Visit Korea Year’, a new one-year partnership with ‘UK Sport Taekwondo’ to promote the national sport and tours in the ‘Home of Taekwondo’ and the hosting of mega events such as the G20 Summit, F1, the 2011 UNWTO General Assembly, the 2011 World Athletics Championships and 2012 World Expo Yeosu; Korea is set to be firmly in the spotlight. All of which will bring greater visibility on our destination, especially since the ‘Historic Villages of Hahoe & Yangdong’ became the 10th site to be inscribed onto the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage listing.

WTM will also be the perfect opportunity for our new and existing partners in UK, Ireland and Scandinavia to come and meet with Korean ground operators to further build partnerships and create greater product choice. We aim to promote Korea as a destination to ‘recharge your energy’; geographically and culturally the country is ideally placed to reinvigorate both body and soul.

Our focus will also be to encourage the ‘fully inclusive tours’ & ‘special interest tour’ markets, using Korea’s unique selling points as a major driver for inbound travel. Online marketing initiatives will be a valuable tool when promoting new niche markets; from the cruising sector (11 ports in Korea offering 11 different attractions and experiences) to sports events and taekwondo, temple-stays and many more. State-of-the-art conference centers’ have the space, place and expertise to organize your biggest or smallest requirement.

We have refreshed, revised and made our online training manual www.koreatraining.co.uk more user-friendly, helpful and interesting. Redesigned under a new tagline – ‘Korea, be inspired’ – the new-look site includes five key training modules plus a new resource centre full of press cuttings and plenty more bits of useful information for the travel professional. We continue to keep pace within the social media landscape offering ‘Cool stuff Korea’ on both Faceook.com/coolstuffkorea and Twitter.com/coolstuffkorea

We welcome everyone to come and experience Korea on stand AS650
