South Korea is now 3rd in the Union of International Associations (UIA) country rankings for top international convention destinations.

Seoul has also improved its ranking as a convention city by coming in 4th in the UIA rankings (5th last year) and 9th in the International Congress and Convention AQssociation (ICCA) rankings (17th last year). Furthermore Busan, Korea’s second city has knocked Copenhagen out and now sits within the top 10 cities in the UIA rankings.

Seoul assisted South Korea’s leap to 12th in the top country destinations according to ICCA, and in the UIA’s rankings, with Busan’s charge into the top 10, this puts South Korea proudly in 3rd place behind Singapore and USA.

Certainly this demonstrates that South Korea’s approach to promote knowledge hubs throughout the peninsular is working well. There are many strong business reasons to hold conventions in the country sending meetings to key centres for excellence in a number of fields.
