New website offers information on Korea's convention

The Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) has opened a new website that offers detailed, up-to-date convention-related information at www.koreaconvention.org.

Available in Korean and English, the site covers everything related to the convention industry in Korea, from Convention dates and facilities to data on related businesses and organisations. The site has been developed through the knowledge and 'know-how' methods discovered during the KNTO's role in sponsoring and supporting various international conventions over the last 20 Years. High Speed Rail Begins Service

In April 2004 the 300km/h high speed railway service will begin servicing the nation, making it possible to traverse the country in less than half a day. Seoul to Daejeon will take 50 minutes (cost approx 11 pounds) and Seoul to Busan (412km in distance/ cost approx 25 pounds) will take just 2 hours and 30 minutes. The rail advance is a breakthrough in convenience for all travellers and is expected to increase tourism in regional areas of Korea. Discounts apply for mixed itineraries. Seoul City Tours by Subway

The Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation has put together the 'Seoul City Tour chart' in Korean & English. From line 5 to 8 all stations have the charts which mark nearby tourist sites, performance venues, museums, shopping centres on the specific line. There are also 6 themed courses/ tours, such as 'The Past and Future of Seoul' & 'The Scent of Life in Seoul', that cover historical artifacts in Seoul and traditional markets.
