‘Hi Seoul’ Festival 27th April – 6th May 2007

‘Hi Seoul’ is a festival created by citizens of Seoul to showcase the cities history, tradition, diversity and uniqueness. The festival hopes to create a street carnival atmosphere and will enable everyone to participate in making the festival a success.

On 27th April tourists from around the world and Seoulites will gather together for an exciting festival in the capital, turning the already vibrant city, rich in diverse culture with a 600-year-old history, into a city with even more excitement. The Hi Seoul Festival 2007 will be held at Gyeongbok, Gyeonghee & Unhyeon Palaces, Bukchon, Insa-dong, Seoul Plaza, along the Hangang River and numerous other cultural facilities in the city.

The opening Ceremony will include a lantern boat parade, Hallyu (Korean Wave) Concert and fireworks, to show the dynamism and diversity of Seoul that is present 24 hours a day. Korean Wave White Night in Seoul will be held from 5:00 pm May 8th to 8:00 am the next day at the City Hall Plaza and around the central Seoul area.

In true Korean style, the main events of the festival, reflect traditionality with modernity. The ‘Seoul World DJ Festival’ will rock the Nanji district, whist one can live the past with the ‘Seoul history parade’. Lets not forget the ‘Wave fashion show & music concert’ or the ‘Seoul Friendship Fair 2007’, allowing visitors to experience the colours of global cultures.
