WTM 2007: ‘Korea, Sparkling’ a new brand for a unique destination

World Travel Market 12-15 November 2007 (B2B Travel Exhibition)

Our main focus at World Travel Market 2007 will be the launch of our new global brand ‘Korea, Sparkling’ which encapsulates every facet of our tourism industry and the many positive benefits of travelling to our destination. The brand was selected as the perfect representation of what tourists travelling to Korea can experience and aims to inspire, refresh and invigorate people from around the world to experience a unique culture, a warm and welcoming population and a wealth of attractions. We would also like to introduce our new London Office Director, Mr. Kapsoo Kim, to the UK Travel Trade and there is no better opportunity to do this than WTM!

Our online training manual www.koreatraining.co.uk that went live in August 2006, has been a huge success and we continue to train Travel agents throughout the UK. Our stand aims to provide a ‘Travel Agent Zone’ that will enable the travel trade to ask questions about Korea and take away a ‘Stopover Seoul’ laminated A4 sheet to help them complete the training modules online. Incentives to register on our ‘Koreatraining’ include possible places on future fam trips.

We also continue to focus on Stopovers and increased twin-centre options to Korea. Having already hosted a twin-centre fam this year to Seoul via Dubai on Emirates, more are planned for the latter part of this year. We welcome all our UK based trade partners to stand AS3100 to build and maintain relationships with airlines, ground operators and Korea Tourism Organization representatives. KTO extends its congratulations to Incheon International for being awarded ‘Best Airport in the World 2007’ by OAG, to Korean Air for being awarded Skytrax’s ‘World’s Best Economy Class 2007’ in the 2006/7 World Airline Awards and also Asiana Airlines for being awarded Skytrax’s ‘5 Star Airline Ranking’ status.

Over the 4-days of the show, attendees will be encouraged to register and become a member on www.tour2korea.com, as we will have three laptops ready for participants. Everyone who registers has the chance of winning a return flight to Korea and other fabulous prizes.

Korea continues to be one of Asia’s trendy destinations in Asia with much interest from the press and travel trade alike. Our stand will have record numbers of ground operators waiting to do business with their UK partners. Korean Air & Asiana Airlines will be represented on our stand and there will be ‘Korean Energy drinks’ to reflect the ‘vital energy’ that our new brand ‘Korea, Sparkling’ will bring to WTM 2007.
