FINANCE MANAGER (Pre-opening)

Yeongdeungpo-dong, Seoul, South Korea

Position Summary

• Responsible for the pre-opening set up of Finance department.
• Act as a financial advisor to management and assists the General Manager with the day-to-day operations of the hotel and helps to formulate operating policies.
• Serves as a Head of Finance Department, supervising a team of accounting, IT and purchasing staff to ensure smooth and effective function of the department.

Core responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor the accounting team of the hotel.
• Prepare financial statements and related accounting reports, budgets and forecasts and continuous audit of all transactions of the Hotel.
• Responsible for the timely preparation of all accounting reports and governmental schedules and tax reports for various governmental agencies.
• Review and analyze financial results and prepare commentaries on hotel performance.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and reporting
• Oversee the implementation and continuous review of financial system, procurement system and the related integration to the front-office system.
• Provide training to staff on group policies and to monitor compliance by the team.
• Manage the preparation of annual statutory accounts to ensure compliance with the local/ international accounting standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and to implement their recommendations.
• Manage treasury operations including cashflow forecasts.
• Co-ordinate all back office systems to ensure a proper work flow from and to the IT Department.
• Drive, direct and lead the sourcing to achieve a competitive cost structure and quality products
• Assume any other projects/tasks as and when assigned by the superior.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Accountancy or Finance.
• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in financial operations within hospitality industry. Possess knowledge and experience in South Korea market.
• Prior hotel pre-opening experience and set up finance department is a must.
• Possess relevant leadership skills, able to lead, coach, and motivate the team.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
• Demonstrate initiative and a positive attitude.
• Effective use of English language, both written and spoken, is essential.
