Ganganam Station, Exit 3, approx. 15-min walk
Kukkiwon is an institute that aims to promote taekwondo, Korea’s traditional martial arts, as well as offer a chance for individuals to experience taekwondo firsthand. First founded under the name Jungang Dojang as a taekwondo training center in 1972, Kukkiwon is responsible for poom/dan grade card and issuing certifications. Kukkiwon also holds non-verbal performances that demonstrate taekwondo techniques and principles in an artistic way.
Yangjae Citizen’s Forest Station, Exit 5, approx. 5-min walk
Yangjae Citizen's Forest was the first city forest to be established in Korea. The vibrant green lush forest serves as a cool public shelter, especially during the hot summer months. The forest has convenient facilities including outdoor fitness equipment, a splash fountain, and a pond. With prior reservation, citizens can also take advantage of the barbeque grill or the outdoor wedding hall. Another noteworthy attraction within the forest is Maheon Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall, located in the northern area.

Heolleung and Illeung Royal Tombs in Seoul are joint tombs of the royal monarchs and their queens. Heolleung belongs to King Taejong, the 3rd king of the Joseon dynasty, and his consort Queen Wongyeong, and Illeung is the grave site of King Sunjo, the 23rd king of the Joseon dynasty, and his consort Queen Sunwon. Heolleung consists of two burial mounds side by side in the order of King Taejong and Queen Wongyeong from left to right.

Shingu Botanic Garden is founded and managed by Shingu College to develop and research plants as resources. As part of their effort, the garden systematically collects, preserves, and exhibits rare and endangered plant species. Visitors can also engage in hands-on activities like making organic soap, dyeing with natural materials, and more. Noteworthy facilities consist of traditional gardens with a stone wall, old-fashioned crocks and crock platform, and water well pump;Eco Center with a spacious 1,000 ㎡ greenhouse;and Marsh Eco-Garden that serve as a natural habitat for diverse fish, insects, animals, and plants.

Pangyo Museum is situated in an area where Baekje chamber tombs from 1,600 years ago are heavily clustered. The museum consists of one basement floor and one ground floor, showcasing and preserving eleven Goguryeo and Baekje chamber tombs that demonstrate cultural exchange among Northeast Asian countries in the past. The indoor exhibition hall displays excavated relics and offers photo zones as well as traditional game activities.

Simgokseowon Confucian Academy was founded in honor of Neo-Confucian scholar and politician Jo Gwang-jo (1482-1512) and to pay respects to his teachings and legacy through memorial rites. Simgokseowon Confucian Academy consists of only a lecture hall and a shrine, rather small in size compared to other seowon (Confucian academies in Joseon period) establishments, but has all the components of Gyeonggi-do’s standard seowon. Jeongam Cultural Festival, a ceremony honoring the scholar and his achievements, takes place here every year, holding plays, traditional games, gugak (traditional Korean music) performances, and more.

Gwanggyo Lake Park is a city lake park formed around a pre-existing reservoir. The park was designed to serve as an ideal resting spot for the citizens while preserving most of the original reservoir. The park consists of several recreational facilities such as Mirror Pond, The Fun Field, an auto-camping site, a climbing wall, an observatory and a lakeside promenade. The view of the lake becomes even more mesmerizing after sunset as the calm lake waters sparkle from the reflection of city lights.

Gwanggyo Station, Exit 1, approx. 10-min by bus (Maeul 6)
Suwon Museum consists of Suwon Museum of History and Calligraphy Museum of Korea, both showcasing Suwon's history and culture in different aspects. Suwon Museum of History displays relics and materials from the city's prehistoric times to the 20th century. An exhibition hall recreating Suwon from the 1960s provides visitors a chance to see various old shops and businesses with a detailed guide available from the payphone in the center. On the other side of Suwon Museum is the Calligraphy Museum of Korea, where visitors can see the development of Korea's calligraphy over the course of history.
