The stations on Seoul Subway Line 5 offer a plethora of attractions and restaurants. Gwanghwamun Square provides citizens and visitors a relaxing rest area within the city. Along Line 5 is also Gwangjang Market, where visitors can find delicious food such as jokbal (pig’s trotters), yukhoe (beef tartare), and nakji tangtangi (chopped live octopus). Whether it’s a relaxing park, exciting traditional market, or a spectacular night view you’re looking for, Line 5 has it all.

The Gimpo Airport Branch of Lotte Mall is a one-stop shopping and entertainment complex. This lifestyle center has a shopping mall, department store, supermarket, multi-brand shops, restaurants and more, all under one roof. IFC Mall features stores selling the latest fashion trends, restaurants, movie theaters and more. The IFC Lawn Garden provides a laidback atmosphere for enjoying various artworks. The atrium within the building holds a variety of performances and events from time to time.
Yeouido Park is a large recreational area located on Yeouido Island in the central part of Seoul. The park is divided into themed sections: Traditional Korean Forest, Grass Square, Culture Square, and Nature’s Ecosystem Forest. The park has a walking path and a bicycle path connecting to the Hangang River and serves as a great recreational park.

Yeouido Hangang Park offers exciting events such as Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival in spring and Seoul International Fireworks Festival in fall. Visitors can also ride a cruise along the Hangang River to get a unique view of Seoul.

Art exhibition deck 63 Art within Seoul 63 Square, sits at the top of the building and is a great spot to look over the beautiful city landscape while appreciating art. 63 Square also has an aquarium, Aquarium 63, where visitors can observe diverse marine animals. Visitors can visit the attraction conveniently via free shuttle bus that departs from Exit 4 of Yeouinaru Station (Seoul Subway Line 4) in the direction of MBC.

Seodaemun Station, Exit 4, approx 10-min walk
Seoul Museum of History captures the traditional culture of Seoul and offers it back to visitors for free. Tracing the history of Seoul back to “Hanyang,” the capital city of the Joseon dynasty, the museum showcases the daily life, culture and overall development of the city. Portable audio device and museum guides for mobile devices are available in English, Japanese and Chinese. Outside the museum, an old streetcar, Registered Cultural Heritage, is displayed as well as a floor water fountain inscribed with an old map of Seoul.

Gwanghwamun Station, Exit 2, approx. 2-min walk
Gwanghwamun Square, located in the middle of Sejong-daero, has transformed into a citizen-centered space. Some of the representative attractions of Seoul, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Cheonggye Plaza, Seoul Plaza, and Deoksugung Palace, are all within walking distance of Gwanghwamun Square.
The underground exhibition space King Sejong Story describes some of the king’s most outstanding inventions including Hangeul (Korean letters), along with other artifacts such as traditional musical instruments and a sundial. As for The Story of Admiral Yi Sun-shin, the exhibition features a replica of the significant turtle ship used by Admiral Yi where visitors can enter inside.

Completed in 1978, Sejong Center is recognized as one of the most representative multicultural art centers in Korea. The center has six levels above ground and three below, and is always busy with indoor performances and exhibitions as well as free outdoor performances. The center also runs and manages various Seoul performance organizations, including Seoul Metropolitan Traditional Music Orchestra, Seoul Metropolitan Dance Theatre, Seoul Metropolitan Chorus, Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theater, Seoul Metropolitan Theater, Seoul Metropolitan Opera, Seoul Metropolitan Junior Chorus, Seoul Metropolitan Youth Traditional Music Orchestra, and Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra.
Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station, Exit 5, approx. 10-min walk
One of Seoul’s most popular representative attractions among tourists is none other than the traditional street of Insa-dong. Set in the heart of the modern city, this street somehow preserves the authentic side of Seoul with many shops selling antiques and cultural products. Various traditional activities can be enjoyed here, making the area popular among both domestic and international visitors. Vehicles are not permitted on the streets from 10:00 to 22:00, allowing pedestrians to safely tour around the neighborhood.
Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station, Exit 6, approx. 10-min walk
Changdeokgung Palace, located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, was a royal palace of the Joseon dynasty. This significant traditional Korean architecture is often characterized by its harmony with nature. Changdeokgung Palace was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage site by the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Committee in 1997. The palace unfortunately was burned down in the late 16th century but was restored and served as the main palace for around 250 years during the Joseon dynasty. Known as a place of rest for the royal family, the back garden, called “Huwon” in Korean, boasts beautiful scenery.

Gwangjang Market is a traditional market that sells hanbok (traditional Korean clothes), clothing and bedding as well as many secondhand items. It is also a must-go place for travelers who are craving Korean street foods such as mayak gimbap ("narcotic gimbap”), jokbal (pig’s trotters), bindaetteok (mung bean pancake), yukhoe (beef tartare), or sundae (Korean sausage).

Dapsimni Station, Exit 4, approx. 10-min walk
Travel back in time at Dapsimni Antique Art Street, offering fun aplenty as you stumble upon art crafts, antique furniture and potteries. The street is perfect for those who are interested in ancient artwork of East Asian countries, such as Korea, China and Japan.
Children’s Grand Park has many attractions including a zoo, botanical garden, performance hall, and an amusement park. The large green pasture and lush forest are popular among families and couples. The park is known to have appeared in several TV shows and dramas.
Olympic Park is home to the main stadium built for the 1986 Asian Game and the 1988 Summer Olympics. This citizens’ park currently hosts both international and local sporting events as well as grand-scale performances. Many cultural facilities are also nearby, such as Soma Museum of Art, Mongchon Museum of History and Seoul Baekje Museum. The beautiful Mongchontoseong Earthen Fortification walking trail is especially popular among travelers and locals alike.
Seoul Baekje Museum was established to shed light on Seoul's 2,000-year-old history. Apart from the permanent and special exhibition halls, visitors can also spend time at the museum’s souvenir shop and café, or participate in hands-on activities. Another attraction of this museum is the rooftop observation deck where one can take in the view of the cityscape surrounding the museum, including the Olympic Park located nearby.
